    Today at Pretend City, we will be hosting a special event for children of all ages who are on the autism spectrum. This is a fun opportunity for families and children to play and interact in an autism-friendly environment. Pretend City wants to enrich your family’s play experience with welcoming smiles and practical support.

  • Tanaka Farms Strawberry Tours

    What Is It?
    This is a guided tour around the farm that takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 1/4 hour on a tractor- pulled wagon. You will see how fruits & vegetables grow and sample many of those that are in season. The last stop on this tour is in the strawberry patch will you be able to pick and eat strawberries! Each person will take home a one (1) pound basket of strawberries!


    Make Strawberry Tour reservations by calling (949) 653-2100 ext. 204 with the name, phone number, date, the time you wish to attend, the number of adults, children, and children ages 2 years old and under who will be attending. A confirmation will be sent to you by email.

    The annual “Giant Blue Whale Migration” brings hundreds of Blue Whales each spring and summer to the waters off Newport Beach. Summer of 2016 over 350 Blue Whales were viewed. These giants’ reach lengths up to 90 feet making them the largest animals of all time. Along with these giants, you will also view the second largest whale, the Finback whale that is often feeding in the same areas as the Blue Whales. Other common encounters include Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, and giant pods of dolphin numbering in the hundreds, sometimes thousands. Join Newport Landing’s whale watching cruises offered daily and view the largest creature on earth.

  • OC Parks Presents the Annual Summer Concert Series

    The first show of the series kicks off on Thursday, June 22 at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton with a performance by Donavon Frankenreiter, who will bring his feel-good, surf-infused folk rock to the summer concert series stage. The following Thursday, June 29 Big Bad Voodoo Daddy makes a triumphant return to Craig Regional Park to fill the air with the sounds of swing.

    On Thursday, July 6, the concert series moves on to Mason Regional Park in Irvine with Rolling Stones tribute band Hollywood Stones. Keep the good times rolling and head back to Mason Park on Thursday, July 13 as OC Parks welcomes Journey tribute band Open Arms and ‘80s sensation Flashback Heart Attack.

    Put on your dancing shoes and head to Irvine Regional Park in Orange to see The Federal Empire perform their amped-up Americana on Thursday, July 20. The OC Parks Summer Concert Series is excited to welcome back indie singer-songwriter and local music hero Matt Costa to the 2017 lineup on Thursday, July 27 at Irvine Regional Park.

    The series will then move to Fountain Valley at Mile Square Regional Park with local Orange County Celtic rock band The Fenians performing on Thursday, August 3. Continue the celebration at Mile Square Park on August 10 with popular reggae-rock band Common Sense as they bring the sounds of summer.

    The summer concert series wraps with two oceanfront dates at Bluff Park, overlooking Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point. Save the date on Thursday, August 17 for a very special surprise guest to be announced in June.

    Gather your friends and family for the series finale with local favorites Family Style and Tijuana Dogs performing live at Salt Creek Beach on Thursday, August 24.

    Food trucks will be serving at each location and a beer and wine garden will be available to those 21 and over. Come out to the parks, bring a blanket and a beach chair and enjoy great local live music in celebration of summertime at OC Parks this summer season.
